Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach at First Financial Credit Union (“FFCU”). FFCU recently discovered that unauthorized cybercriminals infiltrated its network and gained unauthorized access to certain confidential computer files. Following a forensic investigation, FFCU determined that between January 17, 2022 and February 6, 2022, cybercriminals accessed files that contained the personal identifiable information of 229,748 individuals. According to FFCU, the personal information exposed in the breach included:
Names
Addresses
Social Security numbers
Driver’s license numbers
Bank and financial account information
Credit card or debit card information
As a result of the FFCU’s data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly sensitive information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
Murphy Law Firm is evaluating legal options, including a potential class action lawsuit, to recover damages for individuals who were affected by the data breach.
