Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach at Flagstar Bank. Between December 3, 2021 and December 4, 2021, cybercriminals infiltrated Flagstar Bank’s inadequately secured network and gained unauthorized access to its files. Based on a subsequent forensic investigation, Flagstar Bank determined that cybercriminals accessed and acquired confidential files containing the personal information of at least 1,574,169 customers, including Social Security numbers.
As a result of the Flagstar Bank’s data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly sensitive information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
Murphy Law Firm is evaluating legal options, including a potential class action lawsuit, to recover damages for individuals who were affected by the data breach.
