Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach involving Progressive Leasing. On or around September 11, 2023, Progressive Leasing detected unusual activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Progressive Leasing confirmed that cybercriminals infiltrated its inadequately secured computer systems and accessed certain files. Progressive Leasing further determined that through this infiltration, cybercriminals accessed and stole the sensitive personal information of 193, 055 customers and employees, including:
Names
Social Security numbers
Dates of birth
Addresses
Number phones
Email addresses
As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
Murphy Law Firm is evaluating legal options, including a potential class action lawsuit, to recover damages for individuals who were affected by the data breach.
