Advance America

Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach involving Advance America. On February 7, 2023, Advance America discovered indications of a cybersecurity attack on its IT network. Through a subsequent investigation, Advance America determined that unauthorized cybercriminals successfully infiltrated its system and gained access to certain data records. Advance America further determined that the records accessed or acquired by unauthorized cybercriminals contained the confidential personal information of its applicants and customers. While Advance America has not yet publicly disclosed the exact types of personal data exposed in the breach, similar data breaches have involved names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, and/or financial information.

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.

Murphy Law Firm is evaluating legal options, including a potential class action lawsuit, to recover damages for individuals who were affected by the data breach.
