Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach involving Apria Healthcare LLC (“Apria Healthcare”). On September 1, 2021, Apria Healthcare received notice of unusual activity on its internal network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Apria Healthcare confirmed that unauthorized cybercriminals gained access to its computer system between at least April 5, 2019 to May 7, 2019, and again from August 27, 2021 to October 10, 2021. Apria Healthcare further confirmed that the accessed systems contained the electronically stored personal information of at least 1,869,598 individuals. As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
Murphy Law Firm is evaluating legal options, including a potential class action lawsuit, to recover damages for individuals who were affected by the data breach.
