BECU

Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach involving Boeing Employees’ Credit Union (“BECU”). On June 6, 2022, BECU was advised of a data security breach involving its printing vendor, whereby cybercriminals gained unauthorized access to files potentially containing confidential information of BECU members. Based on a subsequent forensic investigation, BECU confirmed that cybercriminals accessed or acquired the personal information of 344,725 of its members. According to BECU, the personal information compromised in the data breach includes:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Account numbers
  • Addresses
  • Credit Score

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly sensitive information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud. Murphy Law Firm is evaluating legal options, including a potential class action lawsuit, to recover damages for individuals who were affected by the data breach.
