Roosevelt University

Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach involving Roosevelt University. On or about May 1, 2023, Roosevelt University detected unusual activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Roosevelt University confirmed that unauthorized cybercriminals had gained access to certain systems. Roosevelt University further confirmed that the unauthorized cybercriminals may have accessed or acquired files containing the personal information of at least 47,877 individuals. The personal information exposed to cybercriminals in the data breach, includes:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Addresses

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.

Murphy Law Firm is evaluating legal options, including a potential class action lawsuit, to recover damages for individuals who were affected by the data breach.
